In recent years, the department of civil engineering has strengthened cooperation with enterprises, establishing a number of high-level practice teaching bases.

The department of civil engineering established national engineering practice teaching center with China State Construction Engineering Corporation, which is a very important mode of cooperation between Tsinghua University and excellent enterprises, practice of talents cultivation mode of technique plus management, and service for local economy.

Meanwhile, combining production internships and practice teaching courses, the department of civil engineering has set up a normative long-term developing mechanism of practice teaching. Establishment of 3 school-level practice bases, 5 department-level practice bases and 4 years overs practice bases can guarantee that freshman students (about 120 students) can carry out their production internship in our own practice bases.

At present, based on establishment of practice teaching bases, the department of civil engineering has set up impeccable department – base united practice cultivation mode, developing students’ability of solving real engineering and technological problems, whole process management of projects, organization and management of large and complicated system projects and team leadership. What’s more, the department of civil engineering concentrates on promoting deep combination of practice teaching and operating management of top engineering enterprises, technical management of large and complicated projects, career choices and ability development of students.
