Executive Expert for the UNDP Project "Support for the Sustainable Development of the Yellow River Delta", UNDP No.CPR 91/144. In charge of river training and water resources studies. As the main member of the Panel of the Core Experts, Dr. Wang drafted most of the Project Reports to UNDP and donor countries, including the Inception Report of the Project (120 pp. including three parts: River training and water resources, environment and GIS, and economic studies and planning); 6 Progress Reports of the project 300 pp., the Final and Interim Reports of the River Harnessing and Water Resources experts group (127 pp + 110 pp.), 1/3 of the General Report of the project (160 pages).

Primary Investigator and Team Leader, the National Natural Science Foundation Project "Unsteady sediment transport and Hyperconcentrated flow" with total budget of 800,000 Chinese Yuan and 10 participants. Excellent results were achieved and 46 papers have been published.
1994 - 1998
Organizer of the Sino-German cooperative studies on unsteady sediment transport. The cooperation was supported by the Volkswagen Stiftung (VW Foundation of Germany). 26 German scientists and about 40 Chinese scientists participated in the activities. The German group held 4 annual meetings and the Chinese group held 3 annual meetings. Two international workshops attended by Chinese, German, Dutch, Swedish, Austrian, Spanish, and American scientists have been held with the main theme Unsteady Sediment Transport. Dr. Wang edited the proceedings of the workshops.
