On May 17, 3 professors from Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering, City University of Hong Kong gave a wonderful lecture at Room 6A103, Teaching Building No 6.
Prof. SM Lo presented the first talk about “A study on people movement in metro station and in the coaches”. To solve the safety problems caused by the increasing subway passengers and maintain the effective system, Prof. SM Lo collected data from video cameras and simulated people movement models under different metro station scenarios.
The second talk was about “Intelligent construction jobsite safety monitoring using advanced ICT” presented by Dr. Xiaowei Luo. With the rapid development of ICT, many new applications such as RFID, Kinect and IMU combining with BIM were used for intelligent construction site.
The third talk was presented by Prof. Richard Yuen. He introduced the education, research, faculties and students of City University of Hong Kong.
